IMPORTANT INFORMATION

STSC Exhibition Our yearly exhibition this year is to open the 4th October 2010. This is a print only exhibition work entered must not have been entered in our last 2 exhibitions held in the STSC Gallery all work must be matted .Two entries per financial member may be entered however we are only able to exhibit some 60 works because of the space available to us. Entries must be delivered at our first meeting in September which is September the 8th.


Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday the 8th of September at 7.30pm.two of our members will be giving us a talk on their photography techniques.

Carol Brandt will be giving us a talk on her Photoshop Techniques and Soren Martensen the use of filters and creating HDR images.

This will be a very informative night and one not to miss hope to see you all there.


Our set subject for September is Still Life/ Table Top.  An image usually of a constructed array of objects, which can complement or contrast with other, and often arranged on a table like surface.

 
Last Meeting PDF Print E-mail

At our competition evening on Wednesday the 25th of August we were fortunate to have John North to do our adjudicating.

John is a National and International judge and gave our members constructive and informative feed back on the images presented. John also said that there were some really top class images in this competition.

Honours were awarded to Gotcha by Tony Cadell; Beach Solitude by  John Van-Den-Broeke; Sunrise - What Sunrise by Soren Martensen.

Merits were awarded to Indian Boy by Sue Webster; Front Row Seat by Carol Brandt; Hairy Palm by Kathleen Henderson; That Waiting Feeling by Anne Nelson; Honeyeater by Kristine Kowitz; Wattle by Judith Bear; Pixel Art Solitude by Gavin Lardner; Sandy Solitude by Tony Cadell; Solitude and Two Birds by Andy Selinger; Airborn and Surfer by John Van-Den-Broeke and Sunrise Spectacle by Soren Martensen.

The print of the night went to John Van-Den-Broeke for Airborn.

Congratulations to all our winners.

Important diary dates

Photographic Conference in ROMA, QLD.

Exhibition: The Australian National Photographic Exhibition 2010 in the “Roma on Bungil Gallery” from the 21st August-24th September.

Conference: In the “Roma Cultural Centre”: 18th - 24th Sept.

People from around Australia are invited to attend this amazing week of speakers, photography, camaraderie and excursions.

You can come for the week, a day or more. You will meet other people from around Australia who are very enthusiastic about their photography.

You can listen to inspiring speakers and attend practical workshops.

Inter club competition with the Gold Coast photographic Club

This will be an over head competition only all work must be new ,images must be received by our group studies  night of the 17/11/2010  no late entries will be received. This competition will be held in our usual room at the STSC January 12th 2011 meeting.

Nick Rains and Chrsitian Fletcher's are hosting a weekend workshop on the Sunshine Coast in October 2010. The workshop has a maximum of 12 participants and three places have already been filled since the workshop release today.   For details click www.nickrains.com
